Tonight, I want to talk to you about what's around us for health? Yes, how do we how do we take advantage of what is basically around us every day to keep ourselves healthy? You know, I've written several articles and we've done several shows on his medicine. You know the answer, and you know various other aspects of it. We talk a lot about nutrition being the foundational grounding of the whole health basis. It's very very important that we start there, you know, with our dogs and cats, starting with a species appropriate diet, that's a raw carnivore diet, if you will. Here are lots of people that they're just afraid and they've been fear bongered by the pet food companies and the pharmaceutical companies veterinarians about the about you know, feeding raw food, how dangerous it is. But yet life goes on all around us with every other species except for ourselves with raw foods. You know, from the tiniest you know, insects and mice that are eating raw vegetables and fruits out

3:03 of your garden, the riving you of your foods, to the cows that eat, and the sheep and the bison that are eating and grazing eating raw food. The wolves and the panthers, and the lions and tigers that call those herds of the sick and dying and deformed animals and make that into food for themselves. And of course here we are at the so called top of the food chain, and we're afraid to eat raw food because we've been told it will make you sick, it will make you die. But why I mean, essentially, if you stop and think about it, it's telling me that the government, the medical associations, whether it be on the veterinary side or the human side, and the processed food industry is telling you, basically that the way food is processed for raw foods, whether it be the vegetables coming in in the produce department of your department store, or the supermarket rather or the meat markets, it is not fit for you to eat raw. You have to worry about contamination, about bacteria, about all kinds of other pathogens. So their answer to it is, let's process it for you, let's highly cook it, destroy those pathogens. But when we do that, we destroy the flavor, We destroy the nutrients, the vitamins,

4:37 the enzymes. So now we have to add chemicals to it to replace those. You know, when you see that symbol on that bag of everything from flour to cereal, to milk to even different fruit juices, you know, vitamin enhanced, you know that means that they're adding synthetic chemicals to that food and trying to disguise it as a nutrients. They're not nutrients. Most of them are harmful chemicals. And then because it has to sit on the shelf literally for months and sometimes years. You know, the average pet food is designed to sit on the shelf for three years. Well, it has to have a ton of preservers in it, which is not good. Those preservatives are doing, yeah, they're killing off pathogens that might be growing, but when you eat it, that preservative is killing off human cells as well, in your gut and throughout your body. They're not just confined to the gut area. You know, it actually starts in your mouth. When you put those foods into your mouth with preservatives, with synthetics into it. Your mucous membranes in your mouth start to absorb it. Recently, we were doing some studies on chronic ear infections and dogs. You know, probably one of the top items that people see their

6:08 veterinarian about. Oh, my dogs constantly has ear infections? Why is that? What do they do? What do the veterinarians do, What do the groomers do? They use a medicated ear drop to kill off bacteria, fungus, and others so called pathogens in the air. But that's not where it's coming from. That's the outward sign that you see. And in fact, at that point in time, all the garbage from inside the body is coming out, and quite often we add oils, oil based products that actually plug it up and keep that poison inside the body. And it's becoming infected inflamed.

6:48 And now you have a secondary problem because now the rest of the body, the whole endocrine system has got to kick in, the adrenal gland, a thyroid, everything's got to kick in to try to fight that inflammation. When it's doing that, it can't help with anything else. And if you're feeding a biologically inappropriate diet a highly processed ultraprocessed food. The body is also working on trying to extract whatever nutrients might be in that which is difficult to do because they're not in the forms that are bioavailable. Again, that is why a species appropriate diet and a raw form is so important. The body is a complex, very sophisticated machine, but the principles are very very simple. Number one, we build an immune system by feeding it good food, clean food. Now you have to remember that that meat diet, it's meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy that we feed to our carnivorous pets. We're dependent on the way that they're raised as well, because if they've been grazing on deplete soil pastures, they're going to be lacking in key minerals which are necessary to maintain that animal's diet and echoes into your pet, so they're going to be deplete as well. Now, if we add it in put them on a inappropriate diet, those cows and those sheep and those deer and those bison of grains which are not appropriate for that type

8:19 of animal. Now they're having the digestive issues, fighting that stress, causing an inflammation in that body. So now that take that roast that you're feeding. You know, it doesn't matter what part of the body it is, it's already stressed. So the omega sixes are going to be very high, and that's going to pass on to your pet. It's going to be bid passed on to you as well. So we want to look for the cleanest foods we possibly can find. That's very important. So grass rays, grass finished, you know, without the soy, and the corn and the grains terribly important. You know, one of the things we think about when we think about healthy foods, of course, especially those that are more of it. On the vegetarian side, you're looking at fish, Well, I eat a lot of salmon.

9:09 Well is it wild caught or is it farm raised? If it's farm raised, how is it farm raised? Just like our cattle. Because there's a lot of good practices, but the bulk of them are very very bad practices. They're living in polluted, isolated areas. You know. Obviously they can't be out, you know, easily in the ocean because harvesting would be a problem because of currents and you know, waves and storms and all kinds of other products which would limit it. So they usually end up in little coves in canals near the shore, which can be more controlled. And of course, because it does not get the flushing action of the waves as much as the open seawood, you've got to build up of toxic waste, all their metabolic waste, basically all the fish poop is polluting their bodies. And then we're feeding them again an inappropriate diet many times of that GMO corn and so I you know, salmon don't eat corn, but they do on fish farms. They don't eat so I what they do on fish farms completely unnatural for that body.

10:21 So again, wild caught regenerative is a definite thing. So now we started out with good clean food. Now, even when we do it, and I have lots of clients that basically confront this on a daily basis. But Bill, I've been feeding a raw diet for years. I still have dogs with ear infections, I have the anal glam problems. I've got skin itching and you know, scratching. I've got chronic licking. You know, I got joint problems. We've got you know other issues that are going on. What am I doing wrong? Well, let's take another step backwards. What do we have to eliminate? Has your animal ever been jabbed?

11:04 Has it ever had any kind of medication, whether it be for parasites, worms, heartworm, harvo virus, kennel cough, distemper, leptosporosis, doggie flu, and another whole plesthor of other supposedly diseases that our pat can possibly Yet, why did you do it? You are told to by who a practitioner of medicine. What's in his toolbox? What's in his store? If you will, medicine, not health, not well being, not trained in nutrition in any way, shape or form, not trained in behavioral issues in any way, shape or form. Basically, no genetics training, no physiological training. Basically the physiology, how the body works.

11:56 It's all minimal. They're taught how to write a prescription for a drug that will suppress a symptom, but they don't tell you what the side effects are. Many times the side effects are worse than the disease. Ever, it could be simple. Antibiotics destroy the natural biome that you need to digest your food. If you can't digest your food, if your pet can't die justice food, they're not going to thrive. They're not getting the energy out of that food. When we add a anti parasitic to repel, please, that does not repel fleas, It does not repel tics. It's not a prevention for heartworms. The packaging tells you so, but you're being told just the opposite by that practitioner of medicine, because they are selling you a medicine and they're selling it under false pretenses only to make money.

12:47 Now part of the show, and again I want to encourage people to jump on the chat and to share this because this is where we're going to start to get into things that you probably have around the house in your pantry that will benefit your pet, your dog, and your cat. Let's stop and think about something. Many of the older formulation dog foods. And then when we go back to when people cooked for their dogs or fed raw fifty years ago, one hundred years ago, garlic was added to much of their diet on a regular basis. Today we're told it's poisonous. When did it become poisonous when somebody wanted to sell you something else? Now, what does garlic do? Garlic's an antibiotic first and foremost, but it's a natural form of antibiotics. That only kills bad bacteria, but it also is a natural flea repellent. It makes the blood taste bad to the flea and tick. So it's going to clean it out. It's going to get rid of them. Most people probably have garlic powder in their pantry. You know, have you ever added have you ever seen your dog eat garlic? Have you ever seen your dog eat onions or chocolate and not die? You know, we worry about it, but the body is very, very resilient.

14:02 It can do a lot of good things. Now that happens to be one thing. Okay, some of the other things, of course, like you said, foods. Unless you're a vegan, you probably have some form of animal based diet in your house. Eggs a perfect protein, a perfect food. Stop and think about it. If we don't harvest the eggs for our diet, what happens to them? They hatch out into life. It's a living food. Very very few foods are living foods. Eggs happen to be one of the great ones. So adding an egg to their diet or two or three is an excellent way to build up that immune system. And it doesn't mean separating it and only give them whites or yolks. It's a balanced food.

14:46 The egg whites, by the way, take biotin out of your body, which you need for your hair and your nails, and for your skin, and of course on dogs their coat. But the interesting thing is is the yolk is loaded with biotin along with a pluster of other vitamins and minerals that actually replace. So basically the biotin's taking out the old, removing that old biotin and old worn out biotin so that the yolk can put in brand new, living biotin. And we started out with talking a little bit about biologically appropriate diets for your pets and even for yourself a little bit and of course the importance of clean food. 18:31 We've still been are being basically suppressed on many venues because we do talk about things that the mainstream does not want you to hear about. Again, the chat room is open, Go ahead and you know, put in your comments, your questions, and I'll be happy to try to answer some of them. I'd love to be challenged sometimes. So anyway, moving along, Okay, So we talked about even animals eating inappropriate so called poisonous foods. That's another one of those scams that've been out there for a long long time. Even ourselves, our body will not allow us to eat enough poisonous food most of the time. There's certain foods, yes, but you take chocolate, okay, it's poisonous to dogs, it's poisonous to people. You eat too much chocolate, You're going to stop before you eat enough to kill yourself unless there's something really physiologically and psychologically wrong with you. The same is true with their dogs. What happens is you eat too much. First off, you quit eating it because your body says stop. Secondly, the body says this is not working out very well. A more immediate action is it comes right back up. You vomit it up. Now your body is purged up to poison. If it's smaller amounts, it may go through the digestive track and you're going to have the time of your life, and your dog's gonna have the time of their life going potty, because it's going to come out expressly. That's a good thing.

20:01 That's actually housekeeping. It's not sick we you know. I mean, if you stop and think about this, you take your dog out and he has loose, running stool, maybe even a little bit of blood in it, diarrhea a little bit. And of course the people, most people don't know the difference between a healthy stool which is not hard informed like we've been told, but it is actually should be soft and not easy to clean up, not easy to scoop up, because when it's hard, it causes them to strain. It could be painful, and part of that's because when they get with these dry foods, the animal is dehydrated.

20:43 And if you're standing in the middle of the field straining, you're liable to be somebody else's lunch. You know, you're no longer the predator, you're now the prey. But it's housekeeping, and generally speaking, in most cases, if you give that, if you're a pat or even yourself, twenty four hours or more, everything is changed back. Now quite often our dogs won't eat their next meal. They'll fast themselves. They know better than we do. We're sitting there trying to force feed them, trying to give them something to eat because we've been told, we've been programmed that they are sick because they had this loose stool or because they had a vomit. Body is just cleaning itself and then it has to rest. When you're sick, you curl up in a ball in your bed, and you don't want to be bothered with anybody. You're not going to go out roller blading or surfing or jogging. Why because number one, you don't have the energy. The body just use that energy to eliminate toxins, dead cells, dying cells, cancer cells.

21:46 The body's getting rid of them. You don't want those who accumulate in your body. You don't want your dog to have them building up in their body. You want them to get rid of it. So that's not an issue. But let's just say that as a concern pet parent, you want to do something for your pet, Well, there's a couple of different things that you can use. I don't like the ones that are being promoted pretty much out there because they're part of an inappropriate diet for dog. Things like pumpkin and sweet potato and rice. Those they can't digest. Those are binding agents though they will glue it together. However, on the other side, if you give it too much, it'll just cause more diarrhea. However, things like slippery elm marshmallow root two excellent botanicals that actually will soothe the gut. Now you know I said things that you could commonly find in your house. Actually, I keep a jar of slippery elm in my in my pantry because I use it as a thickening agent if I'm making sauces or gravy. Yeah, makes an excellent product, but it actually creates a good mucus that's going to soothe the gut basically all the way from the mouth to the butt. I've had people tell me that with an upset stomach that when they took it, they could literally feel it worked through their body. And then your body just has to rest. So when I look at household items that we can use to heal our animals, let's start with rest. When they curl up in their sleeping and it seems like an in order amount of time,

23:17 that's a good thing. Their body's healing. We need time. We don't take the time, you know, and when an animal is recovering. I mean, pet parents drive me nuts sometimes. You know, they're trying to get it. They're trying to wake them up every two hours to try to hand feed them. The animal is not interested in eating, but they're syringing them and they're shoving it in their mouth. The dog is eating because he's trying to please his master, not because he needs that food. And the body's already taxed. We need to settle that gut down. We need to let the gut rest now. A lot of other things that we can find in the household. Anybody have baking powder, Yeah, baking powder probably do excellly. Cleaning item for cleaning your floors and counters. It's where you need a little bit of abrasiveness. Vinegar again, excellent product for cleaning, completely natural that you know, swifty thing that people use. You're laying down a coating of chemicals every time you use it.

24:19 You know, a lot of my more holistic friends, they've when they've gone out and invested in a steam cleaner, one of the best ways to do it. Other clients have invested in an ionizing water unit. That ionized water, especially when you are able to adjust the pH like the units that we use at biocomplete and in my paleopap, we can take it down to a highly acidic water two point five hypochlorous acid hospital grade disinfectant. Do you think that's better, A better disinfectant, A much safer thing than that bottle of chlorhexidine that the vets said that you for cleaning up after your sick animal. That when you read the warning label on it says avoid contact, and when you use it is staying on the floor or on the on the you know, surface where your animal is living. That's why and of course your animals living there, that's why you have to clean it up.

25:17 We have to take our thinking to the next step, thinking ahead. Epsin salts. Most people have epsin salts in their house, you know, they use it when they have an acre pain. What's wrong with using it on your dog? What's with using it for detoxifying your dog. They're outside, they're walking on the streets and the sidewalking the lawns. They're absorbing all these toxic chemicals through their paths. Every regularly, put some water in the tub, you know, two or three inches of water. Put your dog in it. Let them stand in it for fifteen twenty minutes. Let that draw the toxins out. And actually, after it draws the toxins out, that product has this miraculous thing is it adds magnesium the body. The magnesium is actually picked up so it can be used by the body. And you know it's like, well that's a hassle. Well, if you groom your dog on a regular basis, let's stop and think.

26:11 If you brush your dog, comb your dog out on a regular basis. Okay, you can do it while he's standing in the tub. It doesn't have to be on a grooming table unless you've got a really bad back or something. But you know, I know you want to be in front of your be on the couch in front of the TV. Well, maybe move the TV into the bathroom or use a tub of water where you're sitting, you know, make an excellent footbath for yourself as well. Eggshells excellent ursu of calcium phosphorus, good for building healthy teeth in your dog, healthy bones and people. It helps actually consuming right eggshell powder actually eliminates cavities and most stental problems. And much of that information on that can be found on the Western Price website as they did a lot of re search into it. Other things that are found in the house castro oil. Our grandmother's making us take a spoonful of it every day, excellent for immune health. But also let's say your dog has got a hot spot or spot with hair loss. Even things like mange I don't know. Applying that to it though, will help regain hair growth, reduce down inflammation. And there's a whole plusora again of different things that that will help.

29:27 Back to the Pet Health Cafe to show where your pet is a voice. This is Bill, the Pet Health Guru, and we're going through the house and seeing what we can use to keep our pets healthy. And there's a bluster of things that we do have on hand most of the time that we never think of using that would make your life so much simpler, and I can guarantee you will reduce down your veterinary bill probably by thousands of dollars a year just following these simple steps. You know, the lack of medications, you know case staying away from them, so we don't break down the system in the first place. A species appropriate diet very very important, and I says I went into the break. I mentioned one of the other household ams that is very good not only for your petpuit for you as well, is raw honey. I'm not talking about the process. Honey is that you find in the grocery store. For the most part.

30:18 Most of these you'll find that farmers market, specialty retailers things of that nature. And it should be raw, not pasteurized in any way, not processed it anyway, except in fact, if you can get it unfiltered, that's even better. With Manuca honey being at the top of the list. As far as medicinal purposes, that's excellent for burns and scrapes and cuts. Helps with the healing. It's the strongest natural antibiotic that we know in nature, and I want to tell you that we use it again on skin abrasion. Hot spots things of that nature. Yes, it's a little bit sticky, it can be a little bit messy in the house, But you know what's more important, you not having to clean up a little bit of stickiness on the floor, maybe putting a towel down for them to lay on, or having your animals suffer with problems. Now we've used extensively for decades now, raw honey and Manuka honey for dental problems. Now, when I started in this business fifty some years ago and up until about the nineteen eighties, we never had dental problems with our dogs.

31:24 Their teeth were clean. It's because meat enzymes dissolved the tartar. When we took the meat out of the diet. When we went to a normally dry food diet with artificial flavors, because that's how we added the meat to it was to make them eat it, we took out the enzymes that kept the teeth clean. Now we have all these dental problems, and whenever you have to have a dental Procedu're done. I don't care what they say, Even if they say anesthesia free, they're still using normally topical chemicals. The numb, the gum, those chemicals are absorbed in those mucous membranes very very quickly. Well, when you use natural honey, the same thing as happening. It's being absorbed in those nucous membranes. By the way, it's antibiotic, so it's killing the bacteria around the base of the teos. 32:47 A lot of people think about insecticides, chemical cleaners, chemical poisons. Well, if you spray for fleas, that poison is throughout your house. Your dog is breathing it in every day. Yes, those chemicals are absorbed through the nose. People don't think or realize that. We think we're breathing the air is going down into our lungs and then the lungs have to do all the work. No, that filtration process starts in the nose. It also sobs in the mouth whenever we ingest something. So we have to realize what we're putting in is going to have that profound effect on the body. So we want to have the type of items that are going to work to cleanse all these herbs and botanicals.

33:31 Did you know that ground up bay leaves repel roaches in your house? I mean, I know people that have been trying to get rid of roaches in their house for years. Take up some ground bay leaves or even whole ones, put them in the drawers round the cabinets. Next thing you know, they're gone. There's nothing you don't find the carcasses because it basically drives them out. They can't stand the smell of it. Thatatimacious earth kills ants, roaches. Fleas ticks be used directly on the animal to be used internal. Again, this is a night, and that can be used as a thickening agent. Internally, it's going to help detoxify the body, and it's going to help with getting rid of parasites in the gut as well. Now again I've been told numerous times, Oh my god, you go on the internet and you see all these warnings.

34:17 Do not use diatormatious earth can cause all kinds of respiratory issues. That warning was an OSHA warning where places of work people that are handling literally tons of this. Why is it a warning because it's a very very fine powder that, yes, you can breathe in and they can get in your lung That same warning was on the wall when I worked in a purina mill back in the nineteen sixties and my father worked in the flour mills in the nineteen sixties. Because all those fine powders can be inhaled and when they get into your lungs, they have a tendency to dehydrate, which is what causes the problems. That's why you need to be drinking good clean water. Ionized water is obviously the best. I promote that very very heavily, and it's very important that we keep flushing this stuff out. But that's another Those are some natural things that you can use in your house, you know, for cleaning out the lymphatic system. How many of you use ginger or have ginger tea as for yourself?

35:23 How many of you have Tulsa green tea whole plusor of other ones? Again, your animal, your dog, you can't can haven those. Those they're all going to help with the lymphatic sysm ech in Asia, fantastic product it said ionized water. Ionized water is spectacular for cleansing the system. You know. Instead we're using tapwater for our dogs, which is filled with fluorides and chlorides and chloromines and pharmaceuticals. And if we upset it to a bottled water, we're not only having those same things because it's not all filtered out. We're also heading in the plasticizers, the BPA, the phallites that are in that plastic bottle. So having a good source of good clean water if you can't afford an ionizer, at least good clean spring water. But know the sources looked through the go beyond the marketing parts of it. Oh, this is from so and so springs. Well, yeah, but is it clean? You know? I know growing up in Buffalo, the Buffalo River was actually caught on fire.

36:27 There was also a river in Ohio the same thing in the nineteen fifties and sixties, because they were so badly polluted, and yet a lot of that water ended up in our drinking water, It ended up on our crops, it ended up in the livestock. So we have to know. The cleaner the water, the better this is. And of course, the one of the other problems skin problems, itching, excessive licking, that those are healing mechanisms that the animal has to go through. And again, dehydration is a big cause of it, so we need to make sure that they're probably hydrated. Minimal use of chemicals in your house, in your lawn, those are all important for keeping your pet healthy. And of course a lot of these things are available in your household all the time. I don't know if I saw a comment that that popped up there before we end the show. I guess not. Maybe I'm seeing things Okay, Anyway, this has been another quick hour.
